ManageEngine Adds Hyper-V Support to Applications Manager

Server and Application Performance Management Solution now includes multi-vendor virtualization support

AUSTIN, TX, January 18, 2011ManageEngine, makers of a globally renowned suite of cost effective network, systems, applications and security management software solutions, today announced support for monitoring Microsoft Hyper-V servers is now part of ManageEngine Applications Manager, the company’s widely deployed server and application performance monitoring software. Today’s announcement is further evidence of ManageEngine’s commitment to making virtualized environments more easily manageable, an effort that began with VMware monitoring, announced last year.

ManageEngine Applications Manager’s new monitoring capabilities help IT administrators gain useful insight into the health and performance of Hyper-V servers as well as the virtual machines configured in those servers. The software helps Operations teams troubleshoot problems quickly, reduce VM downtime and eliminate performance bottlenecks. With the help of comprehensive performance stats and in-depth reports, IT administrators can ensure their virtual systems are performing at optimum levels.

ManageEngine Applications Manager tracks multiple key performance indicators of Hyper-V servers, such as Hypervisor CPU usage, system services, networking, virtual storage, virtual network stats and more. These metrics allow IT administrators to easily understand how well their Hyper-V resources are being utilized and helps them provision server resources. It also provides administrators the ability to track compliance with service level agreements and ensure a superior quality experience to their end users.

"I'm pleased to see ManageEngine continually advancing the capabilities of Applications Manager as the needs of information technology professionals are always evolving," said Muthu Kumar, Information Technology, Tata Consultancy Services. "Virtualization is certainly of interest to us, but history shows that managing virtualized resources separately is not the best approach. We don't want to create management silos. ManageEngine Applications Manager is providing IT with the power to monitor virtualized environments within the context of their broader network infrastructure. This is the best approach."

"Many businesses today use virtualization products from multiple providers, and therefore, a heterogeneous approach to virtual systems management is essential," said Gibu Mathew, product manager, applications performance management solutions at ManageEngine. "With the addition of Hyper-V monitoring, we are aiming to provide the right virtualization management tool that will manage heterogeneous, multivendor virtual technologies from one management console. This, along with the cloud monitoring support that we introduced earlier, will help our customers monitor their physical, virtual and cloud computing environments with a single piece of software."
